Joshua Levin is the co-founder of West End Cinema, which featured independent, foreign and documentary films, and served as general manager of the venue for several years.
In 2013, Josh launched a separate nonprofit called the West End Cinema Education Initiative (WECEI), which he operates as executive director. WECEI offers free screenings of age-appropriate, educationally valuable films to DC public and charter school classes through a program called WE SEE FILMS.
Josh also produces documentary films, including “Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel” (Sundance and Cannes, 2011); “Cape Spin: An American Power Struggle” (IDFA 2011, Film at Lincoln Center Art of the Real November 2012); and “Demon On Wheels” (in production). Functions includes funding, fundraising, drafting marketing plans and pitches, finding strategic promotional partners, rights clearances, and more.
